MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 31 /CNW/ - Purdy Crawford, a member of the Board
of Directors of The Second Cup Coffee Company Inc. (S.C.CoffeeCo") announced
today that James Anas has been appointed Chairman of the company and of its
subsidiary, The Second Cup Ltd. ("Second Cup"), effective immediately. Mr.
Crawford stated that the appointment follows the recent passing of Mr. Gabriel
T. Tsampalieros former owner, Chairman and CEO of both companies.
Mr. Anas was President and Chief Executive Officer of S.C.CoffeeCo from
2001 until 2007 and served as Executive Vice Chairman of Second Cup
thereafter. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of
Second Cup GP Inc., a direct subsidiary of the Second Cup Royalty Income Fund
(TSX: SCU.UN) for the past two years. His experience includes several senior
executive positions in franchisor companies as well as leading a multi unit
franchisee organization.

Second Cup GP Inc., the administrator of the Second Cup Royalty Income
Trust Fund, announced that Mr. Ted McDermott, a Director of S.C.CoffeeCo and
former senior partner of Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, will be appointed as a
Director of the company to fill the vacancy left by the late Gabriel
Tsampalieros.
